Features of TripaDex...

TripaDex Version 2.0 Features

1)   Use TripaDex if you are a Company Driver or Owner Operator, whether you get paid by the mile, on a percentage or if you get paid by the hour.  Whether you drive a Semi Truck and Trailer, Dually Pickup, Straight Truck, Van or Car, it simply doesn't matter since TripaDex works for anyone who makes a living "over-the-road."

2)   Know exactly how much you have made to date at the click of a button.

3)   Know exactly how many miles you have run to date also with the click of a button.

4)   You will have up-to-date information of how many "Deadhead" miles you have run to date, and for me, that is always good to know because I don't get paid to deadhead.

5)   When keeping Trip expense information, you can select from 47 different types of expenses; now how is that for convenience?  Unlike other programs where you have to categorize your expenses into a few fields, TripaDex lets you keep drill-down information.    I don't know about you, but at the 2, 3, 6-month mark, and especially at the end of the year, I want to know exactly how much I spent at WalMart or how much I spent on Movies or Showers, Scales, Tolls and COM Data charges, just to name a few.  If you haven't already figured it out, I do like my numbers, as I am sure you do as well.  Knowing numbers helps to Save / Manage Money, and no one knows like a Truck Driver how important it is to keep Strict Financial records, especially for that all important.  End of the Year Tax time.

6)   A Form for keeping track of “Additional Information” pertaining to a Trip.  For all you Drivers, Company and O/O alike that keep very Strict Records, you will be able to keep track of anything and everything that you could possibly think of using TripaDex, and best of all, those of you who don't care to keep every little detail accounted for, these features are not staring you in the face.  They are all hidden behind buttons, and when you are ready to use them, all you have to do is "Click."

7)   Click a button and get an up-to-date "Statistics" Report with 3D charts for visual appeal.  Know exactly what your "Deadhead" is to date, how many "Paid Only" miles you have run to date so you can call your dispatch and say… "Hey look, I need more paid and less deadhead."  Know what you are "Actually" making "Per Mile" based upon your Total Miles Run To Date (this helps you to keep your Deadhead to a minimum because every mile you run outside your designated route comes out of the BOTTOM LINE).  Know what the costs are "Per Mile" to operate your Truck, especially useful for O/O's, and there is much more Statistical Data given as well,  i.e.  Your Fuel Cost Per Mile, Your Fuel Loss To Date, etc.

8)   Select a Trip#, Date or Trip Report# within the "Search Records" fields and see expense information for a particular trip.  Also, this type of "Search Records" is in the "Additional Trip Info" Form as well.

9)   The "Additional Info" form lets you input a Trip#, B.O.L#, Date picked up, Date delivered with times, etc. and input additional information about any and all stops pertaining to that Trip, even keep track of Damaged, Short or Overage information along with the Product#, plus so much more!!

10)   TripaDex is filled with Help tips accessible by simply hovering your mouse over top of "?" marks that you will see throughout the program.

11)   There is also a very handy Feature included in TripaDex that is for Company Drivers.   It is an informational tool to help you understand what is costs your Company to operate their trucks and to know where you as a Company Driver need to cut Costs for your Company, which ultimately puts more money into your pocket.  Now I know that many of you Company Drivers won't care about your Company’s Costs, but there are those of you who will find this tool to be very helpful in saving Money and to also keep your "Out-of-Route" miles to a minimum.  Before I became an O/O, I was, of course, a Company Driver, so I understand when you sit in Orientation and the "Recruiter" is telling you that it costs Hundreds of Thousands or even Millions of Dollars per year to operate their trucks, it is hard to believe.  However, I am here to tell you that it Does cost a Company in the Hundreds of Thousands if not Millions (depending upon the size of the company) Per Year to operate their Trucks.  I didn't realize just how much the Costs were until I became an O/O myself.

This added Feature for Company Drivers will give you a ballpark number of...

A: Out-of-pocket Expense for Your Truck to be operated and...

B: Your Company’s approximate "Per Mile" Operating Cost based upon Your Truck and Pay.

C: There is also a 3D Graphical Chart to let you know how many "Hub" miles you have run to date, Your Company’s Peak performance, and also this chart tells you your "Percent" of Out-of-Route Miles.  With this 3D Chart, there is also a Sliding Performance scale that starts Green, then goes to Yellow and finally to Red depending upon your “Percent” of Out-of-Route Miles to date.  Your Goal, of course, will be to stay in the Green.  These "Performance Scales" are also included on Your personal “Pay Type” Tab page for all drivers.

12)   Keep track of Fuel Expense as well with each Trip.  You can input up to 5 fuel stops with each trip, including but not limited to Odometer Reading, Cost Per Gallon and Gallons Purchased.  TripaDex even remembers the last fuel odometer reading entered and lets you click a button to retrieve the Reading so that you don't have to keep typing in past information.  This was added to keep repetitive typing to a minimum.   TripaDex also remembers trip number for you in the "Additional Info" and "Mileage Chart" Forms.

13)   In the "Fuel Expense" information area, you input your odometer readings for each stop and input your "cost per gallon," then input the "total gallons purchased" and click the "calculate" button to see exactly how many miles you have run since your last fuel stop, a total cost of fuel, and it will also tell you what your MPG average is regarding the current Trip.  When you view the "Statistics" Form, you will see how many fuel miles you have run to date, your "Total cost of Fuel" to date and also your average MPG to date.  The Average MPG is also shown at the Top of the screen at the start of TripaDex.  For Company Drivers who would always like to know what their Average MPG to date is, all you need to keep track of is Your Odometer Reading and Gallons Purchased at each Fueling, (no need to keep track of cost).

14)   TripaDex also lets you keep track of Customer Information including Name, Address, Phone, Directions, etc. in the "Customers" Form and once in the "Additional Info" Form, this will enable you  to select a Customers Name from the Drop-Down list and have Address, Phone, Directions, etc. filled in automatically.  This added feature is  to keep from having to type the same information over and over again, especially useful if you visit the same Customers on a Regular Basis.

15)   Included with TripaDex is a "Truck Stop Directory" of more than 5,300 Truck Stops including Truck Washes throughout the US and Canada that are searchable by Truck Stop Name plus State or by State alone or by Truck Stop Name alone.  This list also may be edited if you need to add or change a Truck Stop currently  in the database.

16)   TripaDex also has a "Movie List" Form where you can keep track of your Favorite Movies or Games that you purchase.  You can print this list to take with you to WalMart or your Favorite Movie/Game store so you don't buy the same ones twice.

17)   Yet another Feature of TripaDex is the "Trip Sheet." This "Printable" Trip Sheet is a Full 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper for keeping track of Shipper, Consignee, Directions, Expenses, and also a Mileage chart for keeping track of each stop that you make during a Trip.  This Trip Sheet can be folded in half, which makes a nice booklet for stapling receipts, etc. that you have acquired during each trip inside the fold so that you will have a Great way of keeping your information neatly organized.  This Trip Sheet/Booklet is also useful for keeping information that you would like to input into TripaDex at a later time.  I used this Trip Sheet for years, and it is a Great way of keeping your information neatly organized.    If you prefer not using a Computer on the Road or you simply don't have a Computer to take with you, you can purchase TripaDex to install on your Home System and then call home at the end of each day and give the information to input.
